About the Position
As a Senior Ingredient Sourcing Manager, you will build and own HOLY’s end-to-end ingredient sourcing capability for our dry-powder portfolio.
You will help transition procurement from a primarily contract-manufacturer-led model to a scalable, HOLY-owned sourcing model that improves cost efficiency, supply security, quality control, and operational flexibility. From supplier strategy and commercial negotiations to ingredient validation, supply continuity, and sourcing-process setup, you will create the operating model that enables HOLY to scale its product portfolio.
This role combines strategic category ownership with hands-on execution and close collaboration across Supply Chain, Quality, Product, Finance, Operations, contract manufacturers, and suppliers.
Responsibilities:
Supplier Strategy & Commercial Ownership
- Develop and execute HOLY’s ingredient sourcing strategy, including supplier mapping, qualification, selection, negotiations, and contract finalization.
- Build a reliable supplier network with appropriate backup and dual-sourcing options for key ingredients.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key ingredient suppliers and position HOLY as a preferred customer for strategic partners.
- Drive supplier performance across cost, quality, service, innovation, and responsiveness through regular business reviews and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Continuously monitor ingredient markets, pricing trends, supplier landscapes, supply risks, and emerging technologies.
- Identify new suppliers and ingredients and translate market developments into clear commercial recommendations.
- Own recurring sourcing operations, including forecasts, quantities, MOQs, call-offs, replenishment, supplier capacity, lead times, and inventory risks.
- Continuously improve procurement, supplier management, storage, logistics, and documentation processes, including the transition to HOLY-owned ingredient sourcing where relevant.
- Coordinate specifications, samples, trial batches, sensory checks, stability testing, and supplier documentation with Quality, Product, and contract manufacturers.
- Assess the impact of ingredient or premix changes on taste, appearance, blend performance, manufacturability, and product consistency.
- Monitor supplier performance, availability, quality, pricing, and delivery risks, and implement mitigation plans where needed.
- Establish suitable contingency measures, including backup suppliers, safety stock, and alternative sourcing routes.
- Lead sourcing projects end-to-end, aligning Supply Chain, Quality, Product/Formulation, Finance, Operations, contract manufacturers, and suppliers.
- Identify and track savings from supplier changes, specification optimization, and improved purchasing terms through to realized COGS impact.
About You
- Relevant experience: 5+ years of experience in ingredient sourcing, raw-material procurement, strategic procurement, or supply-chain management.
- Dry-blend expertise: Hands-on experience with ingredients for dry food, powdered beverage, dietary supplement, premix, or other dry-blend applications.
- Technical understanding: Strong understanding of how ingredient specifications and source changes can affect powder blending, homogeneity, flowability, taste, appearance, stability, and production performance.
- Supplier qualification: Experience qualifying suppliers and ingredients using specifications, CoAs, certifications, traceability, audits, samples, and quality documentation.
- Negotiation strength: Strong negotiation skills across pricing, payment terms, MOQs, lead times, capacity commitments, contracts, and service expectations.
- Project leadership: Excellent project-management skills and a track record of driving complex, cross-functional initiatives to completion.
- Analytical and systems fluency: Strong analytical skills, including experience with cost models, volume forecasts, target prices, supplier comparisons, savings calculations, and market intelligence. Familiarity with ERP, procurement, inventory-management, or supplier-management systems, as well as advanced spreadsheet-based analysis, is valuable.
- Balanced decision-making: Ability to balance cost, quality, technical suitability, supply risk, regulatory considerations, and operational complexity.
- Language skills: Fluent written and spoken English; German at C1 level is a plus.
- Additional experience: Bonus: Experience with functional ingredients, vitamins, amino acids, botanical extracts, flavor systems, complete premixes, or international supplier networks.
