Summary:
Responsible wiring harness design in the Engine/Genset domain, especially in 2D environment, schematic preparation, and BOM release. Proficient in Zuken E3 and Windchill for design, validation, and production release. Ensures harness systems meet routing, thermal, vibration, and serviceability requirements while supporting prototype builds, testing, and issue resolution. Actively contributes to DFMEA, DVP, and manufacturability reviews, with strong knowledge of engine electrical systems and a focus on delivering reliable, production‑ready solutions.
Required Skills:
Experienced design engineer with strong expertise in Zuken E3, Windchill and SAP with additional knowledge of Creo. Skilled in wiring harness design for the Engine/Genset domain, demonstrating proficiency in schematic design, load current calculations, and component selection.
Role Requirements:
- Design and develop wiring harness systems for Engine and Genset applications considering design, routing, thermal, vibration, and serviceability requirements.
- Prepare wiring schematics, harness connectivity, Formboard layout, Drawing Generation, BOM & Wire Lists using Zuken E3. Series.
- Conduct interference checks, routing harmonization, and packaging validation with engine and surrounding assemblies.
- Selection of connectors, splice, wire lists, joints in scope of Wiring Harness.
- Create and release Wiring Harness BOMs in SAP with proper material mapping, revision control, and ECR/ECN management through PTC Windchill.
- Support prototype build, installation trials, testing activities, and root cause analysis for harness-related issues.
- Participate in DFMEA, DVP, DFM reviews, and routing optimization for quality and manufacturability improvement.
- Manage the obsolescence for BOM components of Wiring Harness and process this through change management.
- Knowledge of Creo cabling would be an added advantage.
- Possess strong knowledge of engine electrical systems including sensors, actuators, alternators, starter motors, and battery circuits with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a good team player, should have preliminary management skills to distribute and control workload within team.
- Target-oriented planning and execution of complex tasks.
- Analytical thinking and good in problem solving.
- Self-motivated and should have proactive working.
