Summary
The Buyer is responsible for material planning, purchasing, and inventory control to ensure customer supply requirements and business goals are met. This role manages the material pipeline, maintains inventory accuracy, and supports production build and shipment schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Summary
The Buyer is responsible for material planning, purchasing, and inventory control to ensure customer supply requirements and business goals are met. This role manages the material pipeline, maintains inventory accuracy, and supports production build and shipment schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain inventory strategies to support customer demand
- Analyze and report weekly inventory metrics (turns, aging, E&O, accuracy)
- Convert Purchase Requisitions (PRs) into Purchase Orders (POs) and manage high-volume order placement
- Expedite orders, manage cancellations and reschedule, and coordinate with vendors
- Ensure accurate system updates for material arrivals, pricing, and lead times
- Monitor vendor performance and resolve invoice or freight discrepancies
- Maintain compliance with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and quality processes
- Collaborate with Production Planning, Materials, and cross-functional teams
- Understanding of domestic and international trade terms (e.g. Incoterms)
- Experience working within a Quality Management System is a plus
- Operational familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred; Oracle, JD Edwards, AS400, etc.)
- Experience managing high-volume purchase orders preferred
- Math skills and analytical skills is a must
- English proficiency, other language skills e.g. Spanish or Chinese highly preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with strong follow-up skills
- College degree, Associate certificate, Business degree preferred
- 3–4+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or materials management preferred
- Experience in industrial or multi-component manufacturing environments preferred
- Experiences in commercial purchasing, supply chain management, logistics and inventory management are highly considered
