TITLE Faculty Research Intern
DEPARTMENT Office of Sponsored Research
REPORTS TO Sandra Castaldini, Manager, Office of Sponsored Research
PAY RATE $15/hr
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Faculty Research Intern supports the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) in advancing Babson College’s faculty research mission. This role provides hands-on experience in research administration, communications, and data support, while contributing to faculty-facing resources, events, and reporting. The intern works closely with the Manager of the Office of Sponsored Research and assists with operational, communications, and project-based tasks that support faculty research activity across the institution.
This position is ideal for a student interested in research, higher education administration, communications, data analysis, or nonprofit/foundation work.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Communications & Outreach
- · Create and update flyers, graphics, and brief communications for faculty research opportunities, events, and deadlines
- · Assist with maintaining and updating OSR-related webpages and content (e.g., funding opportunities, internal programs, events)
- · Support dissemination of faculty research announcements and OSR initiatives
Data & Reporting Support
- Compile and summarize basic data related to faculty research activity, internal funding programs, and events for newsletters and other media.
- Assist with maintaining internal tracking documents and directories (e.g., internal awards, participation lists, timelines)
- Help prepare simple data summaries or visuals for reports and presentations
Events & Program Support
- Assist with planning and coordinating faculty research events (e.g., research discussions, workshops, Faculty Research Day)
- Support event logistics such as scheduling, room coordination, materials preparation, and follow-up communications
- Help prepare presentation materials, sign-in sheets, and post-event summaries
General Office & Project Support
- Provide administrative and project-based support to the Office of Sponsored Research as needed
- Assist with organizing shared files, templates, and documentation
- Take on special projects aligned with OSR priorities and the intern’s skills and interests
- Assume additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Clear written communication skills and comfort drafting short communications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Sharepoint, Copilot AI.
- Ability to handle time-sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Interest in faculty research, higher education administration, communications, or data analysis
