Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Supply Planner to join our team at ABB Oy, Drives unit in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, Finland.

In this role, you own supplier performance and its development in part categories. You are responsible for ensuring short/mid term material availability for Helsinki manufacturing site production. You will lead supplier co-operation, ensure supplier material buffers according to defined component buffer policies and pro-actively drive supplier operating performance development activities. You will showcase your expertise in active co-operation with suppliers and ABB internal stakeholders to ensure collaboration and continuous performance development.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Securing material availability by proactively managing supply material network

  • Continuously developing operational performance of suppliers to meet ABB business needs by

    • Conducting supplier operational meetings

    • Ensuring that needed supplier daily processes are in place

    • Ensuring that material buffers are agreed and maintained at agreed level

    • Analysing performance data and driving performance improvement projects

  • Acting as 1st escalation point for buyers in case of availability challenges

  • Maintaining inventory parameters in the ERP system: safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes, lead times, and replenishment strategies

  • Collaborating with sourcing, buyers, production and quality to get the best supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality, lead time and flexibility.

  • Continuously increasing your own and the team’s competence

  • Living ABB’s core values, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business


 

Qualifications for the role

  • Good understanding of inbound supply chain and logistics is essential.

  • Few years’ experience in supply chain management and established hands-on experience from purchasing/sourcing. Knowledge of fuses, wire harnesses, fan’s, current transducers, packing, heat sinks, connectors, resistors, relays, power supplies is an advantage.

  • Results driven mindset with hands-on experience in executing material availability root cause analysis.

  • Experience in utilizing modern Supplier Relationship Management practices.

  • Collaborative team player with proven ability to influence others without official superior position.

  • Proven negotiation skills in a multicultural global business environment.

  • Proficiency in SAP MM (Material Master) and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint etc.). Power BI experience is an advantage.

  • Fluency in English and Finnish, both written and spoken.

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in logistics or supply chain management (or other relevant field of study).
