Job Summary

South Shore Endoscopy Center | 659 Washington Street, Braintree, MA | 32 hours per week

Bring your endoscopy expertise to a collaborative ambulatory team where quality, respect, compassion, and exceptional patient care guide every interaction. We are seeking a skilled and adaptable RN to support patients throughout their endoscopy experience—from assessment and sedation through recovery, education, and discharge.

What You’ll Do
• Assess each assigned patient and plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care.
• Provide safe, attentive care in the Post Sedation Care Unit (PSCU) in accordance with established nursing standards.
• Monitor vital signs, IV sites, and any specialized equipment required during recovery.
• Complete systematic patient assessments and clearly communicate findings or changes in condition to the gastroenterologist.
• Administer medications used for moderate sedation under the direct supervision of the gastroenterologist.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and clinical competency needed to care for patients receiving moderate and deep sedation.
• Assess discharge readiness using the Aldrete Scoring Criteria and implement safe discharge plans.
• Record physician orders, document nursing interventions, and communicate pertinent information to support continuity of care.
• Perform nursing and endoscopy procedures in accordance with facility policies and demonstrate proficiency in endoscopy skills.
• Identify patient and family education needs and provide clear guidance that promotes health, well-being, and understanding of physician instructions.
• Maintain a safe care environment, including equipment and supplies.
• Support the Center’s Quality Management and Professional Improvement Program and participate in relevant in-service education.
• Build positive relationships with patients, families, and visitors while consistently following Center policies and procedures.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through formal and informal education related to endoscopy services.

 

What You’ll Bring

• Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• License: Registered Nurse (RN) state license required.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Experience: Endoscopy experience required; ambulatory-setting experience preferred.

 

Schedule

This is a 32-hour position scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with a rotating day off. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse seeking a consistent weekday schedule while delivering high-quality care in an ambulatory environment.
