The Jim Ayers Tower is VUMC’s largest expansion to date:

Key Responsibilities:
• Assists the Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology program.
• Oversees, guides and develops program curriculum.
• Directs student and student related activities.
• Performs all responsibilities of a staff perfusionist.
• The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.
Technical Capabilities:
• Cardiopulmonary Perfusion (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate cardiopulmonary perfusion knowledge in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
• Procedures Knowledge (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate procedures knowledge in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
• Training & Development (Intermediate): Has delivered a program in its entirety. Managed the delivery of a program by a team of instructors, assuring attention to detail. Demonstrated the ability to deal with adversity and disruption during delivery. Established class leadership and credibility. Demonstrated the ability to give clear, concise instructions in support of participant activities.
• Training & Development (Novice): Has presented course modules as part of a program. Effectively prepared by demonstrating knowledge in course content, structure and objectives, as well as audience characteristics. Demonstrated audience sensitivity and awareness. Responded professionally to content questions.
• Medical Terminology & Documentation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate medical terminology and documentation in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Equipment Maintenance (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to maintain equipment, products, or systems in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Assures that parts inventory is sufficient.
