We have an exciting opportunity for a Microbiology and Quality Analytical Technologist at our Crop Protection manufacturing facility in Harbor Beach, MI.
The Microbiology and Quality Analytical Technologist performs routine laboratory testing and quality analysis to support the safe and timely release of products according to established specifications and quality standards. The role is responsible for operating, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical equipment and laboratory systems while ensuring accurate results and compliance with quality procedures. The technician works closely with Operations and Quality teams to support production, contamination prevention, environmental testing, and continuous improvement activities.

What You'll Do:
- Perform routine and non-routine microbiological and analytical testing to support production and product release.
- Generate and maintain production cultures, inoculum, and cryogenically stored microorganisms.
- Conduct contamination monitoring and microbiological assessments of production samples.
- Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical laboratory equipment, including HPLC, GC, and related instrumentation.
- Analyze, interpret, document, and communicate laboratory data.
- Support investigations involving contamination events, customer complaints, quality deviations, and out-of-specification results.
- Maintain laboratory systems, records, and processes in compliance with quality, regulatory, and CAMS requirements.
- Participate in root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, EH&S, and R&D teams.
Education:
High school diploma/GED
What Skills You Need:
- 4+ years of analytical or microbiology laboratory experience OR associate degree in a science-related field.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
What Makes you Stand Out:
- Experience with microbiology laboratory techniques and aseptic processing.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of LIMS systems and quality laboratory processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
