Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support product quality and manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for ensuring products and processes meet company, customer, and regulatory quality requirements.

The Quality Engineer will work closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to identify and resolve quality issues, improve manufacturing processes, reduce defects, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and control plans
  • Monitor manufacturing processes and product quality to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Investigate product defects, customer complaints, and process issues using root cause analysis
  • Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify their effectiveness
  • Utilize quality tools including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, FMEA, SPC, and Pareto analysis
  • Develop and maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, work instructions, and inspection standards
  • Support APQP, PPAP, MSA, and capability studies for new and existing products
  • Analyze quality data and identify trends to support continuous improvement
  • Partner with production teams to implement process improvements and reduce scrap and rework
  • Perform internal, process, and product audits
  • Work with suppliers to resolve incoming material and supplier quality concerns
  • Investigate customer complaints and product nonconformances
  • Train employees on quality procedures, standards, and requirements
  • Maintain accurate quality documentation and records
  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, including IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with production, engineering, suppliers, and management

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Experience with quality standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA)
  • Knowledge of 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, FMEA, Control Plans, and SPC
  • Experience developing and maintaining process and product quality standards
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T
  • Experience with inspection and measurement tools
  • Understanding of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gage R&R
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data-driven problem solving
  • Experience conducting internal, supplier, or process audits
  • Ability to investigate customer complaints and nonconformances
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with quality-related software
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience or certification
  • CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) certification
