ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following areas.
- Calculates costs for goods, services, and delivery/shipment of goods.
- Verifies accuracy of billing data, correcting any errors.
- Creates itemized statements, bills, invoices, and other necessary billing documents, which may require calculation of credit terms, shipping charges, discounts, and costs of goods.
- Records amounts due for items purchased or services rendered.
- Performs general bookkeeping work, which may include entering data and maintaining records, invoices, and supporting documents of amounts due for items purchased or services rendered.
- Generates shipping labels and billing documents.
- Contacts customers to obtain, verify, and update account information when necessary.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Training & Experience):
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required
- Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS: No licenses or certifications are required for this position. However, candidates with relevant certifications in billing, accounting, or finance (e.g., Certified Billing Specialist, QuickBooks Certification) are encouraged to submit them, as they may be considered in evaluating qualifications and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of general accepted accounting principles, practices, and procedures and of their applications to a variety of accounting transactions and problems.
- Knowledge of business English, arithmetic, and modern office practices, procedures, and methods.
- Knowledge of financial data bases and relevant computer applications.
- Knowledge of general office procedures, practices, systems, and equipment as applied to financial operations.
- Ability to communicate in English and Spanish clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to take and follow directions from supervisor.
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to maintain good planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to use computer hardware, various software programs and technologies, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Ability to maintain a good and positive working relationship with all co-workers and other contacts.
- Required to comply with all Imperative’s policies and procedures.
- Ability to follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed inside an office working closely with others and alone with possible light traveling required. Ability to see, write, count, read, and hear is needed to perform essential functions.
