We are seeking a dynamic (Associate) Communications Manager who embodies a strategic, agile, and collaborative mindset. Reporting directly to the Head of Communications BP for Ophthalmology & Neuroscience, you will serve as the core communications partner for these two dedicated therapeutic areas, driving both strategic planning and hands-on execution to elevate brand leadership and foster seamless engagement.
The Opportunity
- Strategic Advisory & Campaign Planning: Act as a communications adviser for the Ophthalmology and Neuroscience therapeutic areas. You will translate commercial, medical, and market access strategies into actionable communication blueprints and messaging frameworks.
- End-to-End Campaign Execution: Lead and execute high-impact communications projects, product milestone launches, and disease awareness campaigns from concept to delivery. Oversee campaign timelines, agency management, and content creation to ensure flawless execution and high-quality deliverables.
- Targeted Media Engagement & Issue Management: Look after product- and disease-specific media inquiries across Ophthalmology and Neuroscience. Proactively anticipate, manage, and mitigate brand-level issues and potential crisis situations to safeguard product and therapeutic area reputation.
- Internal Communications & Alignment: Drive transparent, impactful internal communications to ensure alignment and shared vision across teams within these therapeutic areas, keeping internal stakeholders well-informed and engaged.
- Collaborative Partnership: Partner closely with cross-functional teams and external PR agencies, leveraging broader Communications resources to co-create high-impact disease awareness initiatives, brand campaigns, and milestone communications.
Who You Are
The ideal candidate is more than a communications specialist — they are an agile operator who is deeply energized by making a meaningful difference for patients in Ophthalmology and Neuroscience. A profound curiosity for science and business acumen are key to success in this role.
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of total work experience in corporate communications, public relations, or brand marketing, preferably within the healthcare industry. Proven expertise in product communications, brand-level media and issue management, as well as internal stakeholder engagement.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
