Primary Function
The Team Lead IS Data Systems is responsible for daily and monthly activities that provide technical support and development for the reporting, remittance and reconciliation functions of our Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, or Private investor portfolios.
The Team Lead IS Data Systems is responsible for technical support and report development for the setup, reporting, and remitting on new investors. This includes working with business partners to review files/automations to ensure the result is as expected. Additionally, the individual will work directly with the investor reporting business analysts to train the staff to understand the processes they are completing, create plans to achieve the desired result and complete any required documentation. Candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to research and complete timely resolution to exceptions, including collaboration with internal business partners.
Principal Duties
- Ensure monthly reports are run and delivered to our business partners in an accurate and timely manner.
- Work with less senior staff to ensure they maintain and follow procedures and controls within the monthly process.
- Work with less senior staff and business partners to complete project requirements documents, including details on data inputs and outputs, formatting, desired file type, etc.
- Work with the assigned business analyst to develop a project plan, ensuring all requirements are understood and the plan accounts for all requirements.
- Complete first review of completed code, to ensure requirements met before presenting to the business.
- Work with business partners to resolve any coding issues, including formatting issues with reports.
- Provide technical expertise as required for the creation/update of the process owner’s policies and procedures.
- Work with business partners to ensure the final product fulfills the project requirements.
- Confirm projects are being completed timely and accurately.
- Calculate interest and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio, and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
- Completes root cause analysis and resolves data issues.
- Proposes solutions for future process enhancements.
- Provide guidance and oversight to less senior team members.
- Assist manager in the determination of best practices.
- Creates assignments and tracks internal and external audits to completion.
- Heavy use of Microsoft Excel and T-SQL for data analysis and reporting.
- Handle ad-hoc reporting or research as directed by management.
- Performs related duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology.
- 6+ years of Investor Reporting experience required.
- 6+ years data systems experience.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements
- Expert MS Excel experience required.
- Visual Basic for Applications experience preferred.
- T-SQL or other database reporting experience required.
- SQL Server Integration Services experience required.
- Servicing Director knowledge a plus.
- Strong math skills.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Strong analytical skills, particularly regarding assessing the probability and impact of an internal control weakness.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, learn quickly, be flexible and think strategically.
- Strong communication skills to interact with Senior Management and other business units.
- Working understanding of operational risks and related controls.
- Strong organizational and time management skills necessary.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities as appropriate to meet reporting deadlines and maintain reporting accuracy and analysis abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
- Ability to research and execute alternative methods of achieving a desired result when roadblocks are encountered.
