Job Description Summary
The Lead Generator Controls Field Service Engineer (FSE) will participate as a Regional Service Team member responsible for providing the best service for our customers across the APAC region.The Lead Generator Controls FSE will manage all resources and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair, and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. You will be responsible for project specific operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Support execution of retrofit projects including installation, power up, loopcheck and commissioning of EX2100e Excitation Control Solutions & LS2100e Static Starter Control Solutions. Experience in EX2100, EX2000 & LS2100, generator controls and relaying is also preferable.
- Supervise mechanical and electrical sub-contractors, and instrumentation de-installation or reinstallation; Supervise cable laying, meggering and connection.
- Support warranty administration and troubleshooting issues. Addresses customer service requests and leads customer issue resolution during warranty and post-warranty periods.
- Be responsible for pre-planning, site scheduling, field engineering, commissioning, control system startup, and project handover to customers.
- Works closely with project managers, customers, and supplier representatives to ensure financial performance, quality project installation, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
- Respond to customer call out services requests.
- Timely completion of service time sheets, trip reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative requirements including pre-mobilization and de-mobilization meetings and procedures.
- Work closely with other functions to identify and register change order opportunities as well as review proposals for new opportunities, formulate and present GE solution to customers.
- Significant travel and over-time will be expected up to 70%.
- Other duties as required. Secondary duties may possibly include participation in FAT (factory acceptance test); participation in development of overall controls strategy for projects; design of hardware and software configuration packages according to project requirements; design of operator interface graphics and network topologies; release of system design to manufacturing.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial automation or Electronic Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
- Must have experience in one or more of the following: Excitation control solutions (EX2100e, EX2100 DFE, EX2000 DFE), Static Starter control solutions (LS2100e, LS2100).
- Minimum 3- 5 years of field engineering experience in power generation, industrial plant automation, DCS (distributed control system), PLC (programmable logic controller) and/or similar industry sectors.
- Previous industrial field service experience.
- Controls experience to equipment that functions as a prime mover.
- Electronics and/or mechanical trouble shooting skills.
- Computer skills, familiarity with MS Office, TCP/IP configuration.
- Ability to learn other software tool applications to support HMI and application changes (Cimplicity, Intellution, Toolbox, GAP, etc.)
- Travel 70%, as required.
- Possess a valid driver's license and passport.
- Must reside in Australia, be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with appropriate working visa.

- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, geographically dispersed team environment is required.
- Effective written and oral communication skills with excellent spoken and written English skills.
- Customer-focused skills, demonstrated by experience in field services, customer services or project management, are essential.
As GE Vernova is a global organization, working across different time zones, and monitoring, reading and responding to contact outside normal working hours can be expected.
