Job Description:
CT Simulation Support
- Perform pre-simulation patient preparation, including initiating simulation documentation, confirming required information, providing patient education, answering questions within the scope of the role, and assisting with immobilization-device preparation.
- Assist the Radiation Therapist with patient positioning, setup, and CT simulation procedures.
- Operate the CT scanner and assist with IV preparation or initiation only when appropriately trained and authorized.
- Complete post-simulation documentation, treatment device delivery, and communication to the care team.
Treatment Navigation
- Coordinate treatment scheduling, including assigning treatment times based on machine capacity, and physician and dosimetric requirements.
- Complete initial and boost chart-readiness checks and monitor care paths for pending patients, identifying and helping resolve outstanding barriers to treatment.
- Monitor insurance authorization status and communicate delays or concerns to the appropriate team members.
- Serve as a point of contact for treatment-related questions and concerns through assigned task-management workflows.
- Gather relevant treatment-scheduling information, including systemic therapy schedules, and communicate updates to the care team.
