What we do at Weir
We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.
Make your impact
You’ll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You’ll apply your skills to deliver results that matter whether that’s through engineering, planning or customer support. You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.
What you’ll do
- Category & Strategic Sourcing Execution: Support the development and execution of category strategies aligned with the region’s objectives. You will execute sourcing initiatives focused on lead-time and pricing improvements, supplier selection, and development. Daily activities include analyzing spend, quality, and delivery metrics to make informed sourcing decisions. Success means delivering cost savings, value improvements, and risk mitigation within your categories.

Monitor supplier performance using KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with suppliers to drive innovation, operational efficiency, and supply chain resilience.
- Process, Governance & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to procurement policies, processes, and Delegation of Authority (DoA) requirements. Maintain accurate procurement documentation, contracts, and sourcing records in line with audit standards. Support governance controls and actively use procurement systems such as SAP and Coupa to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Continuous Improvement & Collaboration: Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, standardization, and efficiency. Support regional and cross-functional initiatives led by the Strategic Sourcing Manager. Share best practices and collaborate with other Category, Project, and Associate Buyers across the region.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders including Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance. Translate business requirements into sourcing actions and communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly. Act as a trusted procurement partner to local site and regional teams.
