This is a rare chance to help build a brand-new Sports Neurology and Concussion Care program from the ground up — in a role you help shape, inside a multidisciplinary team, at one of California’s most respected and highly rated health systems.

Our client — a Forbes-recognized, not-for-profit integrated health system serving communities across Northern California — is seeking a Sports Neuropsychologist III to help launch and shape a new Sports Neurology and Concussion Care program inside a state-of-the-art Sports and Orthopedics Center, serving athletes ages 12 and up, from the middle- and high-school field to the collegiate and professional levels. You will identify, quantify, and describe changes in cognition and behavior following concussion and mild traumatic brain injury, and translate those findings into clear guidance for patients, families, and referring physicians. Working in close coordination with Neurology, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation Services, you will help define the assessment pathways, clinical workflows, and return-to-play, return-to-learn, and return-to-work protocols that give this program its shape. You will function as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team — not as an isolated provider buried under paperwork.

• Serve athletes across the full spectrum — high school, collegiate, and professional — ages 12 and up.

REQUIRED

• Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in psychology with a specialization in clinical neuropsychology from an APA-accredited institution.

• Active Psychologist (PSY) license in the State of California — or eligibility to obtain one.

• Five (5) years of recent, relevant experience in sports neurology and concussion care.

PREFERRED

• Pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral training in neuropsychology.

• Advanced command of contemporary neuropsychological assessment measures and interpretation.

• Proficiency with the Epic electronic health record.

• A demonstrated track record of strong report writing, clear communication, and effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
