Overview
This is a Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) position responsible for overseeing quality management systems, contract compliance, inspections, testing activities, and adherence to international construction standards across high-rise residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, and building infrastructure projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in building construction, leadership in quality systems implementation, and the ability to effectively coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Your role
Understands the requirements of construction contracts, specifications, Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Tender Documents related to building and high-rise construction projects.
Prepares clear and concise quality reports, inspection reports, audit findings, non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective action reports (CARs), and technical correspondence.
Monitors QA/QC aspects of civil, structural, architectural, and MEP construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, approved shop drawings, codes, and standards.
Reviews and evaluates contractor and subcontractor Quality Management Systems (QMS), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Control Procedures.
Conducts surveillance inspections and audits to verify compliance with project requirements, ISO standards, and approved quality procedures.
Reviews material submittals, technical data sheets, samples, mock-ups, and supplier qualifications for compliance with project specifications.
Ensures that incoming materials, construction works, and completed installations conform to approved standards and project requirements.
Reviews and interprets drawings, specifications, BOQs, method statements, IFC drawings, technical standards, and applicable local authority regulations.
Conducts and documents inspections for structural concrete works, reinforcement installation, steel structures, waterproofing, façade systems, architectural finishes, MEP installations, and fit-out works.
Coordinates with consultants, contractors, testing laboratories, and suppliers to ensure timely inspections and approvals.
Monitors implementation of corrective and preventive actions associated with quality deficiencies and non-conformance reports.
Leads internal and external quality audits and assesses contractor compliance with project quality requirements and ISO 9001 standards.
Participates in project meetings and provides updates regarding quality performance, quality issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
Monitors testing activities including concrete, steel, soil, waterproofing, façade, fireproofing, and MEP systems testing.
Reviews commissioning documentation and participates in pre-handover, snagging, and final acceptance inspections.
Provides technical guidance and mentoring to QA/QC Engineers, Inspectors, and site teams.
Assists in developing quality training programs, quality awareness initiatives, and lessons learned exercises.
Maintains project quality records, inspection logs, test reports, material approvals, and audit documentation.
Promotes safe work practices and adherence to company HSE requirements during quality inspection activities.
Performs other duties as assigned by the QA/QC Manager or Project Director.
About you
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Strong knowledge of QA/QC principles, quality management systems, and quality control procedures for building construction projects.
Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Thorough understanding of construction materials, testing requirements, inspection methodologies, and quality assurance processes.
Ability to develop, review, and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Procedures.
Experience conducting quality audits and managing corrective and preventive action processes.
Knowledge of international construction codes and standards, including ASTM, ACI, BS, IEC, NFPA, and local authority requirements.
Strong understanding of structural, architectural, façade, finishing, and MEP construction activities.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
Ability to identify quality risks and implement proactive quality improvement initiatives.
Strong communication, report writing, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Aconex, Procore, BIM platforms, and quality management software.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced construction environment and manage multiple priorities.
Education / Experience / Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 10-15 years of QA/QC experience in major building construction projects, including at least 5 years on high-rise residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, or tower developments.
Proven experience in quality management of reinforced concrete structures, building envelopes, interior fit-out, and MEP installations.
Experience working with leading contractors, consultants, or PMC organizations on large-scale building projects.
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent quality certification is preferred.
Membership in recognized professional bodies is an advantage.
Experience in Middle East, GCC, or international high-rise construction projects is preferred.
