The Application Analyst II is primarily responsible for supporting all aspects of the Epic applications that support the operation of the clinic. The role will also provide technical application support, troubleshooting, systems change management, and training of users. The individual will also support senior analysts and engineers with testing and process development and end to end system configuration tasks.
The Application Analyst is responsible for the implementation, support, and optimization of Epic MyChart. This role focuses on enhancing patient engagement by supporting digital access to care, including appointment management, secure messaging, eCheck-in, and telehealth workflows. The analyst collaborates with clinical and operational teams to align MyChart functionality with care delivery processes, ensuring a seamless patient experience. They also support integrations that enable data sharing and patient-generated health data while maintaining regulatory compliance and system efficiency.

- Serve as the primary resource for Epic MyChart application support, including design, build, testing, and optimization of patient-facing workflows such as scheduling, eCheck-in, secure messaging, and telehealth.
- Collaborate with operational and clinical leaders to gather requirements and align MyChart configuration with patient engagement and access to care strategies.
- Support MyChart integrations, including data exchange with external systems, patient-generated health data, and interoperability features that enhance the digital patient experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to MyChart functionality, system performance, patient access, and end-user workflows.
- Oversee MyChart upgrades, enhancements, and configuration changes in collaboration with IT, Epic, and third-party vendors.
- Monitor interfaces supporting MyChart functionality, ensuring accurate and timely data transmission (e.g., appointments, results, communications, and patient-entered data).
- Develop and maintain MyChart-specific documentation, training materials, and workflow guides for both end-users and support teams.
- Train and provide ongoing support for clinical staff, operational teams, and patients utilizing MyChart features.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, while maintaining system security and protecting patient-facing data.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, IT, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Certification in Epic MyChart
- 2 years of IT experience; preferably in a health care setting
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to patient-facing technologies, including HIPAA and data security best practices for protecting patient portal information.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, particularly in resolving MyChart access, functionality, and patient experience issues.
- Knowledge of ambulatory and patient engagement workflows, including scheduling, eCheck-in, telehealth, and patient-reported data within MyChart.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clinical teams, operational leaders, IT, and support end-users as well as patients utilizing MyChart.
Preferred:
- BA/BS in related field.
- Certification in Epic Cadence
- Certification in Epic Welcome
- Familiarity with Epic MyChart and related applications (e.g., Welcome, Cadence), with an understanding of how they support patient access, scheduling, and digital engagement workflows.
- Understanding of ambulatory and patient-facing workflows, including appointment management, eCheck-in, telehealth, and digital intake processes within MyChart.
- Experience implementing and supporting Epic MyChart in ambulatory settings, including patient-facing workflows such as scheduling, eCheck-in, telehealth, and results review.
- Experience with outpatient billing processes as they relate to MyChart, including patient estimates, billing visibility, and online payment workflows.
- Experience with MyChart integrations and interoperability, including patient-generated health data, third-party application connections, and management of interfaces supporting the patient portal experience.
The annual base salary range for this position is from $97,823.00 to $146,681.00, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
