Ready for the Next Step in Your Tax Career?
If you've built a strong foundation in public accounting and are ready for more responsibility, better compensation, and a clear path forward, this could be an excellent next move.
A well-established and growing Fresno CPA firm is seeking a Tax Senior to join its team. You'll work directly with experienced managers and partners, handle interesting and diverse tax work, and continue developing your technical and client-facing skills—all within a firm that values having a life outside of work.
This is an opportunity to advance your career without signing up for a burnout culture.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
💰 Strong Senior-Level Compensation
Earn $110,000–$145,000, depending on experience, plus bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package.
🏠 Genuine Hybrid Flexibility
Enjoy the ability to work remotely part of the week while staying connected with your team and clients.
⚖️ A Sustainable Public Accounting Career
The firm believes you can provide exceptional client service, continue advancing professionally, and still have a life outside of work.
📈 A Real Path to Tax Manager
You'll have opportunities to expand your responsibilities, work directly with firm leadership, and position yourself for advancement to Manager and beyond.
🤝 Direct Access to Experienced Leadership
You'll work alongside approachable managers and partners who are invested in developing good people—not simply assigning more work.
📊 Diverse, Interesting Clients
Work with privately held businesses, business owners, and high-net-worth individuals across industries including agriculture, construction, manufacturing, professional services, and real estate.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and review individual, partnership, corporate, and trust tax returns
- Handle increasingly complex tax engagements
- Identify tax planning opportunities for clients
- Communicate directly with clients to resolve questions and gather information
- Assist with year-round tax planning and advisory projects
- Review selected work prepared by staff accountants
- Help mentor and develop less-experienced team members
- Work closely with Managers and Partners on complex client matters
- Stay current on federal and California tax developments
What We're Looking For
- Approximately 4–7+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Strong individual and business tax preparation experience
- Experience with increasingly complex returns and tax issues
- Strong organizational and deadline-management skills
- Professional communication and client-service abilities
- CPA license or progress toward licensure is preferred, but not required for the right candidate
- Interest in continuing to develop professionally and take on greater responsibility
Don't check every box? We'd still like to hear from you. Strong tax professionals aren't always defined by an exact number of years or a particular title.
