Overview

Digital Designer (Creative Engineer) designs, adapts and delivers high-quality digital creative assets for Publicis Zurich across static, animated and HTML5 formats. The role combines strong graphic-design fundamentals with advanced digital-production capabilities in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, plus working knowledge of HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.

 

Reporting operationally to the Project Manager in Mauritius, works closely with Zurich project managers, art directors, designers and production specialists. The role translates approved concepts and master creatives into scalable, brand-consistent and technically reliable executions across clients, formats, languages and platforms, while contributing to reusable design systems, automation and AI-assisted production workflows.

Responsibilities

• Create and adapt high-quality static and digital campaign assets across social, display, web, presentation and selected print formats using Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Develop and adapt HTML5 banners using Adobe Animate and/or HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, based on supplied masters, templates and technical specifications.
• Create digital animations using CSS, JavaScript or GSAP and apply motion-design principles, with working knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
• Translate approved concepts and master creatives into scalable multi-format, multi-language and platform-specific executions while maintaining brand consistency.
• Apply strong graphic-design fundamentals covering layout, typography, colour, composition, image selection, image editing and basic retouching.
• Assess briefs, production constraints and technical requirements, clarify missing inputs and recommend feasible production solutions before work begins.
• Prepare clean, well-structured working files and technically correct deliverables according to naming conventions, version-control standards and delivery specifications.
• Optimize and test assets for visual quality, file size, performance, browser compatibility, platform requirements and digital-advertising specifications.
• Manage multiple assignments in parallel, integrate feedback accurately and deliver within agreed timelines without compromising quality.
• Contribute to scalable Figma systems, reusable templates, design systems and asset libraries that improve consistency and production efficiency.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing, best practices and capability development within the wider production team.
• Identify and apply opportunities for automation and AI-assisted creative workflows, including prompting, image generation, refinement and production scaling.
• Owns complex assignments from brief to delivery and supports less experienced team members
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager / SPOC, art directors, designers and other stakeholders, challenge incomplete briefs constructively and support less experienced team members where required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in creative engineering, digital creative production, graphic design or digital advertising, supported by a relevant portfolio of static and HTML5 campaign work.
• Strong Figma skills and strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Knowledge of InDesign is an advantage.
• Strong practical experience with Adobe Animate or comparable HTML5 banner production tools
• Proven experience delivering static, animated and HTML5 assets for digital advertising campaigns
• Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript for digital advertising, including experience with Adobe Animate and/or comparable banner-production tools.
• Experience with CSS animation and/or GSAP, plus basic knowledge of Adobe After Effects and motion-design principles.
• Strong visual-design fundamentals, including typography, colour, composition, layout, image treatment and brand systems.
• Understanding of digital formats, asset optimization, web constraints, browser compatibility and advertising specifications across channels and platforms.
• Experience producing and adapting high-volume campaign assets across formats, markets and language variants.
• Practical familiarity with AI-assisted creative workflows, including prompting, image generation, refinement and automation opportunities.
• Strong quality-assurance and troubleshooting skills, technical and platform-specific requirements, with excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to file organization and version control.
• Familiarity with Jira, Workfront, AEM or similar collaboration and workflow tools is an advantage.
• Good command of written and spoken English. German and/or French is an advantage.
• High level of autonomy, ownership and creative-technical problem-solving, with strong communication, collaboration and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
