Medical Assistant

Summary

Support physicians in delivering exceptional patient care while providing outstanding customer service to patients and the healthcare team. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care activities, including obtaining patient histories and vital signs, verifying medications, preparing charts, managing documentation, tracking lab results, and conducting pre-visit planning.
• Perform clinical procedures such as EKGs, rapid strep testing, urine dip testing, spirometry, nebulizer treatments, and other routine diagnostic services.
• Administer vaccines and medications as ordered.
• Educate patients on medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care within established guidelines.
• Coordinate and monitor urgent referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up care.
• Review quality and care-gap reports to support patient outcomes and maintain performance standards.
• Maintain adequate inventory of medications and medical supplies.
• Monitor and document vaccine storage temperatures in compliance with Department of Health regulations.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, environmental, OSHA, and Department of Health standards.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies to protect patient information.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service and patient experience.
• Participate in meetings, training sessions, and workflow improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Pay Range:

$18.13-$29.90
