This major infrastructure project includes seven new stations and installation of rail and systems under a progressive design-build model.
Beyond its technical scope, the ECWE project represents a significant investment in sustainable urban mobility, expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 5,800 tonnes annually and eliminate over 6.5 million vehicle trips each year when combined with the full Line 5.

The Civil/Systems Interface Specialist is responsible for coordinating, managing, and resolving interfaces between rail systems, civil infrastructure, utility providers, municipalities, external stakeholders, and third-party infrastructure owners. The role ensures that interface requirements are identified, documented, coordinated, and successfully integrated throughout the design, construction, testing, and commissioning phases of the project.
Job Description
Coordination and Supervision of Interface Deliverables
Supervise, review, and control interface deliverables produced by designers, contractors, subcontractors, and third-party stakeholders.
Lead and coordinate interface meetings involving systems, civil, architectural, utility, municipal, and third-party infrastructure representatives.
Monitor interface activities and ensure interface deliverables are submitted in accordance with project schedules.
Review interface documentation for completeness, safety, reliability, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
Interface Coordination and Integration
Coordinate interfaces between systems disciplines and civil works including stations, guideways, tunnels, structures, utility corridors, and roadway infrastructure.
Review conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs to ensure interface requirements are properly incorporated.
Facilitate resolution of design conflicts between systems and civil disciplines.
Maintain interface registers, interface agreements, and action tracking logs.
Coordinate technical requirements and interface resolutions with municipalities, utility companies, agencies, and third-party asset owners.
Review and Approval Process
Manage, track, and close interface review comments in coordination with project stakeholders and the Contracting Authority.
Coordinate the review and acceptance of interface management documentation.
Support design review processes and ensure interface requirements are addressed prior to design approvals.
Reporting Preparation
Prepare regular interface status reports and presentations.
Communicate interface risks, decisions, actions, and resolution status to project leadership.
Maintain records of interface meetings, technical decisions, and stakeholder agreements.
Risk Management
Identify interface-related risks and opportunities and coordinate mitigation strategies with project teams and risk management personnel.
scalate unresolved interface issues that may impact scope, schedule, cost, safety, or operational performance.
Required Skills and Competencies
Experience
3-5 years of experience in systems integration and interface management on transportation, railway, or transit projects.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design and construction activities on complex projects (LRT experience is a strong asset).
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Systems Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of systems engineering, interface management, requirements management, and configuration management.
Understanding of railway systems and civil infrastructure integration.
Knowledge of design review processes and interdisciplinary coordination.
Experience maintaining interface registers and tracking interface actions.
Familiarity with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS or DOORS NG.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with CAD and Bluebeam.
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
Strong communication and facilitation abilities.
Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary environment.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
