- Promote IT security best practices company-wise
- Ivestigate security breaches and other cyber-security incidents
- Ensure the development of and continuous review/update of a suitable security awareness program
- Conduct internal and external security audits
- Manage network, intrusion detection, and prevention systems
- Ensure that the IT infrastructure is compliant with all regulatory requirements (i.e. 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR), existing SOPs, and generally accepted industry practices
- Perform vulnerability assessments, security testing, and work on remediation and mitigation findings for companywide assets
- Research and recommend improvements to the technical infrastructure relative to security, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), UTM, and overall system integrity
- Provide off hour support on an infrequent, but as needed basis
- Stay current on IT security trends and news
- Bachelor’s degree, or its international equivalent, in Computer Science/Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent combined education and experience
- Certification, or commitment to quickly obtain certification, such as Security +
- 1-2 years with significant security related information systems/technology experience or 3-5 years IT Operations experience with direct experience in a modern IT environment
- Experience identifying and mitigating network vulnerabilities and explaining to others how to avoid them
- Hands-on experience with the following: Fortinet solutions, vulnerability scanning, antivirus & malware analysis, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), log correlation tools, and network access control (NAC)
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts
- Familiarity with best practice security configurations for solutions by VMWare, and Microsoft Windows Server
- Strong familiarity with access-lists, subnet masks, subnetting, and ip routing
- Background in CRO, pharmaceutical, biotech development, or health care industry preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Sound organizational and time-management skills. Must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize as needed in a fast-paced working environment, especially when dealing with time sensitive issues and mandated deadlines
- Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision
