Investments Sales Leader – Endowments, Foundations & Single-Family Offices, Europe
Location - any of our major European city hubs.
Marsh People and Investments has an established a strong regional presence in the Endowments, Foundations and Single-Family Offices segments. The investments team has ambitious growth plans for these segments, and we are actively looking to expand our business. To do so, we have commenced recruitment for a regional Endowments, Foundations and Single-Family Offices sales leader.
The Sales Leader (SL) is accountable for the successful regional execution of Mercer Investment’s sales plan, focused on achieving AuM and revenue growth goals in partnership with regional stakeholders. The SL will work closely with the Global segment team, and the regional Wealth and Investment leaders to further develop and implement our segment business strategy. The successful candidate will lead go-to-market efforts focused on our investment solutions and investment advisory capabilities. The SL is accountable to deliver the regional segment AuM and revenue growth targets and will be integral to achieving our vision of market leadership for this segment in Europe.
Reporting to the Head of Investment Sales, Europe, and working closely with the global segment leadership team, the SL will be a key member of the European Sales Leadership team. The SL will support the Head of Investment Sales, Europe, and Global Endowment, Foundation and Single-Family Offices leadership group to assess market demand, identify business opportunities, integrate the global objectives within the regional strategic direction, align the business structure, inspire and engage colleagues, and to deliver strong financial results.
Key responsibilities:
Strategy & Financials:
- Further develop and execute the European segment sales strategy in alignment with the global segment goals and translating these into regional strategies and objectives.
- Deliver sustained and profitable growth for our Endowments, Foundations and Single-Family Offices businesses in Europe and achieve our annual budgeted revenue commitments.
- Drive the momentum of Mercer’s regional investment pipeline across
- Responsible for best practice business development activities including client identification, opportunity origination, solution design and regulatory compliance.
- Successfully execute on a direct pipeline of sales activity.
- Leverage the intersections across Marsh to accelerate commercial activity focused on growing AUM.
People & Leadership
- Support the development of commercial talent across the region to drive future business success ensuring that DEI is a priority.
- Identify, highlight and engage local teams to support product/solutions improvement.
- Continue to build a diverse workforce and inclusive culture across our business.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders, including local Wealth, Investment, Consulting and Sales leaders across Europe.
Key requirements & attributes:
- Senior sales professional with a demonstrable track record of developing strong commercial relationships with Endowments, Foundations, Not-for-Profits and Single-Family Offices across Europe.
- Well-connected and respected leader with a C-level contact list that can be used to influence positive sales outcomes.
- Deep understanding of investors client needs, investment objectives and buying processes.
- Ability to inspire with vision and passion with proven leadership experience, including building high performing teams.
- Clear understanding of the underlying investment, operational and regulatory issues that determine institutional clients’ investment and business decision-making.
- Commercial awareness and confidence to effectively influence other teams and specialist groups to achieve positive business outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex issues.
- People and team leadership qualities including the ability to lead with influence, in the absence of formal authority.
- A leadership approach that fosters trust and builds engagement, unlocking people’s full potential through transparent, collaborative, and inclusive leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work within a team environment and operate as a mentor to junior colleagues; share ideas and present persuasive arguments.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in finance, economics or other business-related areas.
- At least 10 years’ total experience – with a clear track record of leading teams that have delivered superior sales results.
