Description:
To plan, organize, direct, and control the department in such a way as to meet branch and corporate goals for profitability, customer satisfaction, safety and growth. Assure corporate processes and policies are adhered to by all electrical personnel.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze operating results and projections of the Electrical department relative to established objectives and ensure that the performance is satisfactorily maintained.
- Implement and monitor procedures, policies and organizational structure in the department to achieve the goals set by the Corporation and the Branch. .
- Establish and gain approval of short and long term plans consistent with overall profit and growth objectives of the Branch.
- Provide management direction to key subordinates, motivating them to function as a cohesive group working toward achieving branch and departmental goals. .
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of assembly and installation of assigned projects.
- Assist in producing and providing Electrical Quotes as needed
- Communicate effectively with other departments within JFPG as well as contractors who are responsible for completing various phases of the project.
- Monitor the progress of construction activities on a regular basis and attend Branch Construction Meetings and weekly debriefs.
- Ensure customer requirements are being met.
- Ensure Safety Training and procedures are followed in the department.
- Hire and train subordinates. Establish and communicate performance expectations
- Stay informed on technical developments and market conditions.
- Market the department and the company.
- Oversee the Administrative aspects of the field work, both construction projects and service repairs from start to finish, working with customers, sales staff, and JFPG Branch Staff.
- Project accounting functions including managing the job Cost Tracking of team expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project.
- Ensure that construction and service activities move according to pre-determined schedules
- Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
- Ensure project documents are complete prior to formal job closure
- Coordinate and monitor the relational activities between customers and review the deliverable prepared by the sales staff before passing to customer.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager.
- Understands, complies and enforces JFPG safety policies.
- Understands, complies and enforces OSHA safety requirements.
- Participates in and trains subordinates in the use of daily Job Safety Analysis
- Participates in safety programs provided by employer.
- Considers work to be performed to identify potential safety hazards and either eliminates the hazard or reports the problem to the Department Manager for resolution prior to beginning work.
- Insures the use of the proper safety equipment at all times by all employees under his direction.
- Reports accidents or injuries to personnel office immediately. Aids in the investigation and documentation of job-related accidents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Strong communication skills: ability to develop and interpret routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively.
- Mathematical skills (add, subtract, decimals etc.)
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Driver’s license (current, unrestricted, and free of moving violations)
- Familiarity with installation methods, materials, and standards of installation for Automotive Equipment.
- Ability to plan and organize a team effort.
- Excellent customer management. Ability to build goodwill with customers.
- Capacity to motivate, lead, and boost morale of the Electrical team.
- Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
- Capacity to handle pressure.
- Willingness to travel.
- Physical and mental fitness.
- Strong focus on quality.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Must be able to meet company’s employment requirements, which includes passing a drug screen, background check, and MVR, if driving for the company
