We are a nonprofit and one of only a few assisted living's that have been awarded the Gold Excellence of Care by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare! CURRENT OPENING: Full Time - Sunday-Thursday 6am-2pm
More shifts to pick up if needed/wanted
Additional $2 per hour shift differential for weekend hours
Pay: $20.50 to $22.00/hr depending on experience, education and shift
Weekend differential pay offered at $2/hour
NOC shift differential pay offered at $2/hour
Work Environment:
Orchard Ridge operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; operational needs of the facility may require you to be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the residents. Various schedules and shifts are available. We strive for flexibility with scheduling.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Medication Certification accepted by Idaho State
• CNA certification or equivalent experience preferred, not required
• CPR and First Aid certification (must have or be able to obtain upon hire)
• Ability to remain calm under stressful situations
• Effective communication with residents, families, and staff
• Computer literacy; experience with ECP or similar systems preferred
• Ability to pass criminal and drug background checks per regulations and company policy
• Experience in Assisted Living, LTC, Home Health, or similar setting preferred
• Ability to work respectfully with older adults and memory care residents
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Medication Assistance:
• Provides medication assistance per Idaho regulations, following the rights of medication assistance
• Maintains minimal medication error rate and adheres to facility policy
Resident Care:
• Assists with ADLs including toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, etc.
• Obtains and records vital signs; reports abnormalities to the licensed nurse
• Observes and reports changes in condition, behavior, or status
COMMUNICATION & TEAMWORK:
• Communicates resident needs and concerns to the licensed nurse and follows direction provided
• Works collaboratively with team members to meet resident needs
• Follows chain of command for concerns or questions
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE:
• Adheres to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Maintains resident rights at all times
• Follows infection control practices and proper PPE use
• Responds to emergency call systems and assists in emergencies
• Reports suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or unsafe conditions immediately
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
DOCUMENTATION & OPERATIONS:
• Completes accurate and timely documentation
• Maintains clean and organized work areas
• Reorders medications per facility/pharmacy protocols
• Supports resident engagement and activities
DELEGATED TASKS:
• Performs delegated tasks (e.g., blood glucose monitoring) only as directed by a licensed nurse and within competency
WORK EXPECTATIONS:
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance; follows call-off procedures
• Demonstrates flexibility with changing resident acuity
• Maintains professional boundaries with residents, families, and staff
• Performs other duties as assigned within role scope
SCOPE OF POSITION:
• Functions as Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP)
• Does not perform nursing assessments or clinical judgment
• Accepts only delegated tasks for which competency has been demonstrated
• Seeks nurse direction for changes in condition or uncertainty
TRAINING & EDUCATION:
• Attends required in-services and continuing education
• Maintains current certifications
• Completes minimum of 8 CEU hours annually per Idaho requirements
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Facility-based position; no travel required
• Scheduled shifts including weekends and holidays as needed
PHYSICAL / SENSORY REQUIREMENTS (with or without mechanical assistance):
• Medium work: exert 20–50 lbs occasionally, 10–25 lbs frequently, up to 10 lbs constantly
• Safely assists with transfers using proper body mechanics and mechanical lifts
• Responds quickly to resident needs and emergencies
• Prolonged standing/walking; occasional sitting
• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching
• Occasional twisting and kneeling
• Adequate vision, hearing, and sensory awareness
• Push/pull equipment (wheelchairs, beds, med carts)
• Tolerates exposure to healthcare environment (bodily fluids, chemicals) with PPE
