About the Role
The Engineer, Manufacturing is responsible for leading manufacturing readiness for product launch in manufacturing. The Engineer, Manufacturing ’s scope of responsibility covers the end-to-end production process of new products (material preparation, assembly, and shipment preparation).
What You’ll Do
- Review pre-production and mass production BOMs for accuracy
- Perform BOM optimization analysis and drive improvements with engineering teams
- Interpret engineering specifications and product topographies into manufacturing work instructions
- Coordinate first article / golden sample builds and drive resolution of technical design issues and part quality issues
- Identify “disruptor” products and engage manufacturing engineering & manufacturing management in the development of unique processes and procedures
- Drive New, Unique, Different, Difficult (NUDD) evaluations and provide recommendations to manufacturing engineering for process changes, tooling upgrades, and
- Develop and implement a Manufacturing Readiness Review program which ties the key pieces of factory readiness into a stakeholder driven phase gate review
- Design and manage the PPAP workflow and implement new procedures to support a more robust NPI process
- Provide technical support to manufacturing engineering and manufacturing training teams during SOP development; provide training where required
- Represent manufacturing in customer reviews of first article builds and engage with engineering to make adjustments based on customer feedback
- Drive manufacturing risk assessments such as DFM and PFMEA
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering discipline required (mechanical, electrical, or industrial preferred)
- Experience in manufacturing environments preferred
- Experience with continuous improvement / lean programs
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
ZT Systems assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package is created for all our employees. The typical base salary for this position is expected to be around $60,750 to $81,000. If hired, the final base salary will be determined on an individual basis taking into consideration experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
