About the role
Contribute to the safe and reliable management of AGL's dam assets as a Civil Engineer (Dam Safety & Projects). This is an 18-month fixed-term contract based at Bayswater Power Station (Muswellbrook, NSW).
Working within the Dams, Ash & Rehabilitation Management team, you'll provide engineering expertise across dam safety, surveillance, monitoring, asset management and project delivery activities. You'll play an important role in maintaining the integrity, compliance and long-term performance of critical infrastructure assets that support AGL's operations.
What you will be doing:
As a Civil Engineer (Dam Safety & Projects), you will support the safe, compliant and reliable management of AGL's dam assets and associated civil infrastructure by:
- Providing engineering support across dam safety, surveillance, monitoring, risk management and asset management activities.
- Developing and reviewing technical documentation, engineering solutions and project scopes to support infrastructure upgrades, rehabilitation programs and ongoing asset performance.
- Coordinating contractors, consultants and key stakeholders to deliver dam safety and civil infrastructure projects safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements.
- Implement, monitor, and report on dam surveillance and inspection programs, including the management of instrumentation systems and associated data collection processes.
- Contributing to asset reliability, compliance and project outcomes through the application of engineering best practice and innovative solutions.
What you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in civil engineering, dam engineering, geotechnical engineering, infrastructure, construction or project delivery, preferably involving declared dam assets.
- Knowledge of dam safety legislation, ANCOLD guidelines, surveillance, monitoring and instrumentation systems, with the ability to apply engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience using project and asset management systems such as SAP, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or similar.
- A commitment to health, safety and environmental performance, supported by a collaborative and continuous improvement mindset.
