Description
The role is onsite, 5 days a week, from our office in Wrocław.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly and quarterly revenue accounting activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and providing revenue-related accounting close support.
- Apply U.S. GAAP revenue recognition principles under ASC 606, particularly to software transactions and related arrangements.
- Review revenue-related data, contracts, invoices, and supporting documentation to ensure revenue is recorded accurately and consistently.
- Support internal controls, audit requests, and documentation for revenue accounting processes.
- Analyze revenue, bookings, sales trends, product mix, customer contracts, and other business drivers to support monthly close and management reporting.
- Prepare clear variance explanations and concise narratives for finance leadership and business partners.
- Support recurring revenue reporting packages and ad-hoc analysis related to sales, product offerings, pricing, and revenue performance.
- Work with SAP to process, review, and analyze revenue-related transactions and support accurate reporting.
- Improve revenue accounting and reporting processes by standardizing templates, enhancing data quality, and identifying opportunities for automation.
- Partner with IT, accounting, and finance teams on system or process changes impacting revenue recognition and reporting.
- Collaborate with corporate finance, accounting, customer service, and commercial teams across multiple regions to align revenue accounting and reporting processes.
- Support ad-hoc projects, business reviews, and analyses that require both accounting judgment and financial analysis.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, MBA, or equivalent qualification is a plus.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in revenue accounting, accounting, audit, or financial analysis; experience in software, SaaS, or technology is preferred.
- Practical understanding of revenue recognition principles and the ability to execute recurring processes, maintain supporting schedules, and analyze revenue-related data; experience with software revenue arrangements is a plus.
- Hands-on experience preparing or reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly close activities.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and structured reporting.
- Experience with large ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle; SAP experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect accounting results to business drivers and communicate insights clearly.
- Excellent English communication skills and ability to work effectively with international teams; German language skills are helpful but not required.
- Experience with BI tools, SQL, Python, or other analytics/automation tools is a plus, but not required.
- A finance professional who can own recurring close and reporting responsibilities while also thinking analytically about the business.
- Someone comfortable working with large data sets, ERP outputs, and Excel-based analysis, with strong attention to detail and process discipline.
- A proactive team member who can partner across functions, identify issues, suggest improvements, and translate revenue data into practical business insights.
