Job Summary

The Bakery Technologist Process Engineer Co-op will provide technical support to bakeries from an R&D perspective, focusing on equipment testing, product quality, process optimization, and cost-saving opportunities. Additional responsibilities include product development, ingredient evaluation and troubleshooting to improve efficiency and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Support new product launches and improvements by collaborating with product development, QA and manufacturing teams
• Troubleshoot in facilities and assist with commissioning new equipment
• Investigate product variations and apply scientific methods to resolve issues
• Improve processes and test new technologies for innovation
• Collect and analyze data to support product and process development

Key Qualifications

• You are PASSIONATE about food!
• Post-Secondary education in the Sciences, Engineering, Food Science, or related program
• Mechanical aptitude for understanding the limits of plant equipment (a strong asset)
• Strong analytical skills and fact-based decision-making capability
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all team members
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft office applications
• Valid G or G2 license and access to a vehicle is a must
• Weekend or extended shifts may be required on occasion
