Daycare Assistant

The Daycare Assistant provides daily care of children (infant – school age) in a nurturing, clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

1. Responsible for the care of registered children, including feeding, interacting, reading, and engaging in age-appropriate activities.
2. Maintains a clean and safe environment, ensures handwashing and sick child protocols are followed, toys and furniture are sanitized, and bathroom facilities are cleaned after each shift.
3. Ensures responsive communication with parents/guardians in all aspects of their children’s well-being.
4. Documents any concerns or issues with a child’s wellbeing and communicates to supervisor.
5. Adheres to all childcare policies and procedures, laws and regulations as applicable.
6. Executes Active-Net transactions and inputs and maintains accurate data in Excel.  
7. Assists with special events (Parents Night Out, Castle Cleaning, etc.) as needed.
8. Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of 15 years of age
• American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to complete certification within 30 days of hire
• Experience working with children under six years old preferred

• Desire and ability to provide care to children of various age groups
• Ability to work a varied schedule including days, nights and weekends
• Ability to communicate effectively and responsively with fellow staff members and parents/guardians
• Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity
