P4Data Engineer II – Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)
Job Summary
Tyson Foods is seeking a business-oriented Data Engineer II to support Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) initiatives across manufacturing facilities and infrastructure. This role is responsible for delivering reliable asset data, analytics, system solutions, and governance processes that support the full asset lifecycle—from design and construction through operation, maintenance, and eventual replacement.
The position serves as a critical partner between Finance, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and IT to ensure enterprise asset data is accurate, standardized, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate combines technical data engineering expertise with knowledge of asset management, ERP systems, financial processes, and master data governance.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Finance & Lifecycle Analytics
- Support asset accounting processes including Construction in Progress (CIP), capitalization, depreciation, maintenance cost tracking, reconciliation, and lifecycle cost management.
- Partner with Finance and Operations teams to improve cost transparency, asset utilization, total cost of ownership (TCO), and capital planning.
- Develop dashboards, analytics, and reporting solutions to drive maintenance performance, reliability insights, replacement asset value (RAV), and capital forecasting.
- Support audits, due diligence activities, acquisitions, divestitures, and regulatory reporting through accurate and governed asset data.
SAP, Application Development & Systems Integration
- Support design, configuration, enhancement, and production support activities within SAP S/4HANA EAM processes.
- Collaborate with IT and third-party vendors to integrate SAP with enterprise applications, cloud platforms, governance solutions, and analytics environments.
- Build and maintain cloud-based data pipelines to support enterprise reporting and decision-making.
- Participate in deploying SaaS and AI-enabled solutions that improve asset management, engineering, and reliability processes.
Master Data Governance & Data Quality
- Maintain enterprise standards for asset master data, equipment hierarchies, functional locations, cost structures, metadata, and naming conventions.
- Support governance platforms such as Collibra by managing catalogs, lineage, stewardship assignments, workflows, and policy controls.
- Lead data quality initiatives including cleansing, standardization, enrichment, and exception management.
- Produce scorecards, documentation, training materials, and reporting that improve data integrity and decision-making.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Independently manage cross-functional assignments while balancing operational support and strategic improvement initiatives.
- Translate technical analysis into actionable business recommendations.
- Assist with onboarding and informal coaching of junior team members.
- Stay current on emerging technologies including cloud platforms, ERP modernization, AI/LLM tools, and manufacturing digital solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, ERP systems, asset management, finance systems, manufacturing analytics, or data governance.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA (PM, PS, MM, FICO preferred), Fiori, cloud data platforms (GCP or equivalent), SQL, Python, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance tools such as Collibra.
- Experience with analytics and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Palantir, Tableau, or Analysis for Excel.
- Manufacturing or asset-intensive industry experience preferred.
This is an individual contributor role with no direct supervisory responsibility; however, the position is expected to provide guidance and informal coaching to junior team members and may require travel to manufacturing sites and project locations.
