Medical Payment Poster

Description

At Konza Prairie Community Health Center, every payment posted accurately helps ensure patients continue to receive the care they need. We're looking for a detail-oriented Medical Payment Poster to join our Revenue Cycle team. If you enjoy working with numbers, insurance payments, and problem-solving while making a difference behind the scenes, we'd love to meet you. 

As a Medical Payment Poster, you'll ensure insurance and patient payments are accurately applied to accounts, helping maintain a healthy revenue cycle and supporting quality patient care.

Responsibilities include:

• Post insurance, electronic (ERA/835), EFT, mailed, and patient payments accurately within established timelines. 
• Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs) to post payments, adjustments, denials, and contractual write-offs. 
• Identify and report denials, underpayments, zero-dollar payments, and payment discrepancies for follow-up. 
• Balance daily payment batches and reconcile posting reports to ensure accuracy. 
• Identify accounts requiring refunds or additional review. 
• Research payment variances and resolve posting issues when appropriate. 
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. 
• Collaborate with the billing team to improve workflow efficiency and maintain clean patient accounts. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 Pay & Schedule

• Competitive starting wages based on experience and qualifications
• Hybrid, Full-time, Monday–Friday

Requirements

1. High school graduate or equivalent 
2. Working knowledge of medical insurance terminology, EOBs/ERAs, Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and payer reimbursement processes.
3. High school graduate or equivalent . management system.
4. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
5. Basic computer, data entry, and math skills.
6. Excellent communication and customer service skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Medical Billing and Coding Certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree.
2. One (1) year of experience in medical billing, payment posting, insurance claims, or healthcare revenue cycle.
3. Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding.
4. Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW).
5. Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
