Position Summary

St. Mary's Regional Medical Center is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Patient Service Representative to join our Physical Therapy team!

As a Patient Service Representative, you will play an important role in creating a positive experience for patients by serving as their first point of contact. You will help coordinate patient appointments, manage schedules, collect registration and insurance information, and support the daily operations of the Physical Therapy Department.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and provide friendly, professional customer service.
• Serve as a primary point of contact between patients and the healthcare team.
• Register patients and collect accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments to support efficient department operations and patient flow.
• Communicate appointment information, processes, and expected timelines to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure patients are appropriately checked in and ready for their appointments.
• Collect copayments, coinsurance, and outstanding balances at the time of service.
• Provide appointment reminders and assist patients with scheduling needs.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold the mission and values of Covenant Health.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Previous customer service or healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Comfortable using computers and telephone systems.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent patient service.

Comp Range:

$16.89 - $23.25
