What We Offer
Location:
Rehovot,ISRYou’ll benefit from a supportive work culture that encourages you to learn, develop, and grow your career as you take on challenges and drive innovative solutions for our customers. We empower our team to push the boundaries of what is possible—while learning every day in a supportive leading global company. Visit our Careers website to learn more.
At Applied Materials, we care about the health and wellbeing of our employees. We’re committed to providing programs and support that encourage personal and professional growth and care for you at work, at home, or wherever you may go. Learn more about our benefits.
As a Technical R&D Program Manager in the Data Products Group, you will lead programs and own their full life cycle – from definition and development, through release and field deployment, to support of the installed base – for both NPI and SPI programs. You will lead multidisciplinary teams in a matrix organization, without direct authority, and deliver data platforms, AI applications and CAD-based solutions to their content, quality, schedule and budget targets.
What’s in it for you?
- Own strategic programs end to end and have a direct impact on products running in leading semiconductor fabs worldwide.
- Work with cutting-edge technology at the intersection of data platforms, AI applications and CAD-based solutions.
- Get high exposure to all functions and to senior management, and grow into a broader program role.
Our group
The Data Products Group (DPG), part of SW R&D in Applied Materials’ PDC division, develops data platforms, AI applications and CAD-based solutions deployed at semiconductor fabs worldwide.
Our products run on-premise at customer sites alongside Applied’s inspection, metrology and review tools, and combine high-availability compute platforms with software delivered as configurable, licensed options.
Our program managers work across SW R&D, Computing, Operations, Field Service, Product and Procurement to take products from concept to the installed base and value capture.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead data-platform programs and own their full life cycle – definition, development, release, field deployment and installed-base support – across NPI and SPI.
- Build and run the program framework: charter and scope, success KPIs, integrated plan and critical path, phase gates, governance cadence and decision rights.
- Lead a cross-functional core team (SW R&D, Computing, Operations, Field Service, Product, Procurement) without direct authority, align priorities and resolve conflicts with shared platform teams.
- Drive decisions: frame options and trade-offs across scope, schedule, cost and quality, make clear recommendations and escalate with a proposal.
- Work with Product Management to turn requirements into prioritized, configurable content – standard offering, options and SW features – that is orderable, buildable and upgradable in the field.
- Own the path to the field: HW/SW releases and part numbers, site preparation, customer IT and security reviews, installation readiness and a smooth transition to Operations and Field Service.
- Manage sustaining activities on the installed base: upgrades and migrations, ECOs, obsolescence and compute-hardware life cycle.
- Plan and control the program budget – HC, MCOS, procurement and long-lead material; highlight risks and drive optimizations.
- Track and present status, risks, issues and required decisions to senior management, with clear owners and dates.
- Take ownership of part of the program-group scope, represent it with leadership and improve program processes and tools.
What you should have
Must-have
- B.Sc. in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years in R&D of complex HW + SW products, including 5+ years as a project or program manager owning programs end to end.
- Proven record leading NPI and/or SPI programs from definition through customer deployment and support of the installed base.
- Strong program-management methodology: integrated planning, critical path, risk management, phase gates, governance and budget control.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a complex, dynamic matrix organization without direct authority.
- Strong technical understanding of complex systems – compute platforms, software release processes and their dependencies.
- Business sense: budget and cost drivers, procurement and long-lead material, customer environments and challenges.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Hebrew, including to senior management.
- Independent, proactive and data-driven; sees the big picture and dives into details when needed.
Nice-to-have
- M.Sc. or MBA
- Experience in the semiconductor equipment industry or with products installed at customer sites.
- Experience with AI/ML products, data platforms or on-premise AI/HPC infrastructure.
- Familiarity with CAD-based or design-data applications.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure: servers, storage, networking, security and high availability.
- Experience with configurable products: BOM structures, SW licensing and field-upgrade kits.
- Hands-on use of PM tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira) and GenAI tools to improve program work; PMP or similar certification.
