Gutridge is a leading construction and service company providing Plumbing, HVAC, Fire Protection, and Electrical services throughout Central Ohio. We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable/Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team in Hilliard. This position will primarily support Accounts Receivable, customer billing, collections, and lien waiver processes, while also assisting with Accounts Payable and other accounting functions as needed.

What Will You Be Earning?

• Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour.
• Compensation is determined by hiring managers and is based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, and the specific demands of the role.

What Will You Do?

• Assist with Accounts Receivable billing and customer account management.
• Prepare and process customer invoices and support construction/project billing.
• Monitor outstanding Accounts Receivable and follow up on past-due balances.
• Communicate with customers, General Contractors, project managers, and internal teams regarding billing and payment status.
• Manage and track lien waiver and release processes, including obtaining, preparing, and distributing required documentation.
• Assist with payment applications, supporting documentation, and customer billing requirements.
• Apply and accurately record customer payments.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, and account issues.
• Maintain accurate customer, project, and billing records.
• Assist with Accounts Payable invoice entry, vendor documentation, and payment processing as needed.
• Assist with vendor W-9s, Certificates of Insurance, tax-exemption documentation, and other accounting records.
• Support project accounting, job-cost, and general accounting functions as needed.
• Work closely with the Controller, CFO, project managers, and other members of the accounting team.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Requirements

Who Are We Looking For?

• 2+ years of Accounts Receivable, construction accounting, billing, or related accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with construction billing and lien waiver processes strongly preferred.
• Experience with Trimble Viewpoint Vista is highly preferred and would be a significant plus.
• Accounts Payable experience is a plus.
• Experience working with General Contractors, subcontractors, or construction project teams is preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general computer skills.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow up consistently on outstanding items.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative accounting team.
