Maintenance I

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production, packaging, warehouse, and utility equipment, including electrical systems, motors, control panels, and conveying systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on all equipment in accordance with established schedules, manufacturer specifications, and plant standards.
• Support equipment setup, changeovers, and modifications; construct or modify electrical and mechanical systems using schematics, blueprints, and technical instructions.
• Monitor and maintain utilities systems (boilers, chillers, cooling towers, compressed air, etc.), including performing testing and routine analysis to ensure proper operation.
• Document maintenance activities in CMMS and collaborate with Operators, Coordinators, and Managers to resolve issues, uphold food safety and quality standards, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

NIGHT SHIFT: 2-2-3 SCHEDULE

This position works a fixed night shift on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule, providing full-time hours and every other weekend off. Applicants must be able to work the assigned night shift rotation, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production, packaging, warehouse, and utility equipment in an industrial environment.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with PLCs and/or relay logic, motors, control panels, and use of diagnostic tools (volt/ohm meter, amp probe, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to support equipment repair and modification.
• Working knowledge of industrial utilities systems (boilers, compressed air, chilled water, cooling towers, etc.).
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools and perform maintenance work in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to complete assigned projects and resolve issues.

• Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds
• Ability to work at heights using ladders, manlifts, or elevated platforms
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including temperatures above 85°F and limited exposure to outdoor elements
• Ability to work in high-noise and dusty environments typical of a manufacturing facility
• Ability to respond to plant communications, including overhead paging systems

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED required
• Training, certification, or hands-on experience in industrial maintenance or a related field
• Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment preferred (or ability to obtain certification)
