Overview
As a Digital Press Assistant at Menasha Corporation, you'll help set up and operate digital printing presses according to written and verbal instructions, company procedures, and safety guidelines. Your responsibilities include understanding job ticket information, verifying job specifications, obtaining substrates and supplies, assisting with press setup, printing proof sheets, maintaining optimum production rates, and troubleshooting quality issues. You'll complete quality inspections, maintain equipment cleanliness, participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned. The position requires working third shift with potential overtime and weekends. You'll need a high school diploma or equivalent and corrugated manufacturing experience. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and effective teamwork skills.

About The Opportunity
The Digital Press Assistant is responsible for helping with setting up and operating a digital printing press to written and/or verbal instructions, established company procedure, and safety and quality guidelines. The Digital Press Assistant Operator will be expected to learn the next job in the line of progression and step-up as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
- Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements
- Verify job specifications such as size, color and type of paper and color of ink from job order
- Obtain substrate and related supplies needed to produce the job
- Assist with press set-up according to established company guidelines, safety and job requirements
- Print proof sheets to check press set-up
- Print job maintaining optimum production rate, color density, registration, and quality standard within company and customer guidelines, and make press adjustments as required
- Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment
- Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product
- Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
- Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance– quality is the responsibility of all employees
- Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned equipment and surrounding area
- Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
- Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
