  • Gain exposure to high-profile and challenging issues, balancing legal compliance, regulatory judgement and evidence-based decision making
  • Lead meaningful casework with significant responsibility, including exercising discretionary statutory powers and society cancellations
  • Develop strong stakeholder management skills through close engagement with industry professionals, legal representatives and internal specialists
  • Conduct pre-application meetings with new and existing societies, influencing outcomes from the earliest stages and building trusted relationships
  • Thrive in a varied and fast-paced environment where you can apply project management approaches to deliver a diverse portfolio of work
  • Benefit from extensive learning, development and career progression opportunities within a supportive team committed to helping colleagues grow and succeed

Skills required

  • Relevant experience of investigating complex issues and critically assessing and analysing information from multiple sources to reach sound, evidence-based decisions
  • Proven experience of communicating complex information clearly in writing and verbally, and of building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, including senior stakeholders

Essential:

  • Demonstrating the ability to identify and evaluate key issues arising from complex or incomplete information, investigate matters thoroughly and exercise sound, proportionate judgement to reach balanced, evidence-based decisions
  • Communicating complex issues clearly and persuasively, adapting your approach to influence stakeholders, provide constructive challenge and build effective relationships at all levels
  • Taking ownership of outcomes by organising and coordinating work effectively, delivering accurate, high-quality outputs while managing competing priorities and dependencies
  • Operating independently with appropriate escalation, remaining effective under pressure and adapting constructively to changing priorities, feedback and challenge
  • Bringing knowledge and understanding of the mutual societies sector and the environment in which mutual societies operate
  • Experience of interpreting and implementing legislation, regulatory requirements or comparable formal frameworks, alongside project management approaches to plan, coordinate and deliver work or change initiatives
