Description
Responsibilities / Tasks
- Work focused on filling equipment and Blow Molders
- Works actively in the Service scheduled activities, such as Audit, Line Start-up, Help Desk, Service Work, and modifications
- Support new equipment installation and commissioning
- Carries out line/machine restarts following the maintenance or modification, Upgrade, Retrofit
- Carries out Service Work, modifications, upgrade, retrofits
- Draws up detailed technical reports indicating the activities performed and those ones to be performed
- Is available for worldwide trips, as necessary
- Coordinates and manages on site any potential sub-contractor external technicians
- Manages the technical, operational, and temporal details of each intervention in agreement and compliance with the received details
- In close co-operation with the Site Coordinator and the Service Project Manager, he checks if the conditions under which they work on site are in line with the safety standards, evaluating any possible/necessary corrective action
- Carries out the tasks assigned to him internally such as troubleshooting, remote activities, Help Desk services
- Install / mechanical upgrades without CoC presence on site.
- Strong understanding of the system process for the LPT equipment. Able to troubleshoot more complex process issues.
- Lead a team on installation and / or equipment commissioning.
- Create complex SOP’s for equipment and systems.
- Inspect, repair, test, and optimize / tune Blow Molders, and other Beverage and Filling equipment.
- Install, Mechanically and Electrically new Blow Molders, and other Beverage and Filling equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues and problems in order to repair Blow Molders, and other Beverage and Filling equipment.
- Write clear and thorough inspection reports and field service reports for internal and external use.
- Recommend available upgrades and optimizations on Blow Molders, and other Beverage and Filling equipment.
- Provide accurate estimates of labor times to complete service visits / rebuilds, and installations, commissioning, and training for new equipment and retrofits.
- Provide technical training to customers for proper operation, preventive maintenance, scheduled maintenance, and emergency / breakdown troubleshooting and service.
- Initiate recommendations for improved tools, procedures, etc for the service operations.
- Provide support to internal stakeholders with questions regarding parts requests, quoting, selling upgrades, etc.
- Travel within North America, USA and Canada majority of the time, but also ability to travel internationally for training and service interventions.
- Experienced and able to use bench and hand power tools properly and safely.
- Detail oriented.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Travel up to 80%.
Your Profile / Qualifications
Educational Background:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree, Filling Equipment Certificate, or equivalent years of hands-on experience in mechanical work on Blow Molding, liquid filling and / or beverage equipment.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with blow molders, Liquid filling equipment, mechanical installation, service, and repair / troubleshooting role.
Professional Knowledge and Experiences:
- Experience installing and service blow molders, liquid filling, and beverage equipment.
- Proficient with hand tools for the installation, maintenance, and repair purpose of completing require tasks.
- Troubleshooting software and electrical systems.
- Experience wiring 3 phase motors, 120vac power / communication, and 24vdc communication, etc.
- Experience with wiring and troubleshooting network communication such as Ethernet, Device Net, etc, a plus
Other Skills and Competencies
- Ability to lead a small team on site
- Fluent in English both verbally and written.
- Strong mechanical background required.
- Ability to read and understand instruction manuals, assembly drawings, P&ID’s.
- Ability to read PLC and HMI code, troubleshoot software, electrical problems a plus.
- Self-starter / works with little direction or instruction.
- Ability to work in groups, and independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics.
