What impact you’ll make
As a member of the GE Vernova Steam Power Americas Nuclear Services team, you will serve as the technical and execution Subject Matter Expert for nuclear generator replacement projects. You will support the full inquiry-to-remittance (ITR) life cycle, from scope development and proposal review through outage preparation, installation, commissioning, and closeout. You will help teams develop executable plans, identify technical and schedule risks, apply lessons learned, and deliver projects at their targeted cost and margin.
You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, project management, field services, and customers to resolve generator replacement challenges. You will also develop and mentor project and field teams, strengthen execution practices, and support customer confidence throughout these complex projects.

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Lead the Services technical and execution input for generator replacement opportunities throughout the ITR process.
  • Review scope, estimates, schedules, assumptions, risk provisions, proposals, and contract requirements to help ensure commitments are achievable and financial targets are protected.
  • Serve as the primary Services SME for generator replacement projects, providing guidance on removal, site preparation, component delivery and handling, installation, mechanical and electrical interfaces, testing, and commissioning readiness.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, logistics, project management, and field teams to identify and resolve technical or execution issues before they affect the outage critical path.
  • Support generator replacement planning and outage readiness reviews. Challenge work scope, sequencing, resource plans, tooling, lift and transportation plans, site constraints, contingency plans, and hold points to improve execution predictability.
  • Provide technical support during field execution, including timely assessment and resolution of emergent issues. Participate in internal and customer meetings, remotely and on site, as needed.
  • Capture and apply lessons learned from generator replacement projects to improve future estimates, schedules, risk assessments, work plans, and project outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver training and mentoring for Service Managers, project managers, field engineers, and other Nuclear Services personnel involved in generator replacement work.
  • Build strong customer relationships through clear technical communication, sound judgment, and consistent support from proposal development through project completion.
  • Act as Value Stream Process Owner for Generator Replacement scope, defining the standard of work execution throughout engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and installation phases of these complex projects

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or a High School Diploma / GED and 4 years equivalent experience in the power generation industry.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience with large generator installation, replacement, maintenance, or major component projects.
  • Demonstrated experience planning or executing complex power generation outages or capital projects involving generator systems and their mechanical and electrical interfaces.

What will make you stand out

  • Experience leading or providing technical oversight for a complete nuclear generator replacement, from planning through installation and commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of generator construction, installation requirements, auxiliary systems, alignment, electrical connections, inspection, testing, and commissioning.
  • Experience with heavy lifts, transportation and rigging constraints, site logistics, and integration of large components into an existing plant.
  • Strong project management and outage planning skills; experience with Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Experience developing project estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and execution plans for large, complex projects.
  • Commercial or contract negotiation experience on large projects.
  • Knowledge of project management accounting and GE Vernova financial practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in complex customer site environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, make sound decisions under schedule pressure, and follow established processes.
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power facility in Canada, Mexico, or the U.S.
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice and be present on site when needed.
  • Six Sigma or Lean experience.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $104,200.00 and $173,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
