Where there’s life, there’s Mercy.
Where there’s care, there’s You.
Through the battles and the breakthroughs, we're there. Where will you be?
For over a century, our incredible teams have provided care for people at every stage of life. Across our aged care homes, hospitals and research facilities, and across numerous cities and towns, we’re on a journey to keep growing our impact for the next hundred years.
As a for-purpose organisation with over 10,000 dedicated, compassionate people, we continue to offer more services and deeper care than ever before. With Mercy, you’ll have the chance to make an impact and gain experience that’s hard to find elsewhere.
At Mercy Health, it’s all about taking what we have and making it better.
To do that, we need you.
Join us at Mercy Health, and help our teams deliver even greater outcomes.
About the opportunity
At Mercy Health, you will become part of a proud history built on over 100 years of expertise, skill and care. As Project Manager within our IT Applications team, you will use your program delivery, leadership and stakeholder management skills to help achieve even more for all who need us.
You will lead the delivery of a program of IT application and integration work across Mercy Health, managing multiple concurrent projects with a hands-on approach. Reporting to the Head of Applications, you will work closely with the IT Leadership team, business stakeholders and external vendors to deliver outcomes on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
Your program will span the Mercy Health Application Roadmap as well as broader strategic, enterprise and cross-functional IT initiatives aligned to the Digital Strategy 2023 to 2027. You will lead and direct project teams of internal staff, contractors and vendors, manage program budgets and vendor engagements, and embed consistent project and program management practice across the function. This role offers the opportunity to help shape how project delivery grows within IT Applications.
What you’ll bring
It takes a special kind of person to work in healthcare or community services. If you are genuinely interested in helping others, then you’ll find you can build something here and find your place in a team of 10,000 hearts.
To thrive in this role, you will have:
- At least 5 years of experience in IT project and program management in a large, complex enterprise environment, across the full project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience delivering a program of work and managing multiple concurrent projects with a hands-on approach.
- Experience leading and directing project teams, including internal staff, contractors and vendor resources.
- Strong budget and vendor management skills, including statements of work and deliverable acceptance.
- Experience with waterfall, agile and hybrid delivery methods.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder skills, including presenting to executive and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in healthcare, aged care or a similarly regulated environment is desirable.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- A degree in Information Systems, Business, Project Management or a related field, or equivalent experience
- PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification (MSP is desirable)
- A current Victorian driver licence
- A current Police Record Check
