A Typical Shift
You’ll arrive ready to flex with PRN needs, get report, and quickly orient to your assignment. Throughout the day, you’ll balance focused patient interactions with steady charting, keeping your priorities organized as conditions change. Expect frequent touchpoints with the charge nurse and other team members to clarify plans, share updates, and keep care moving smoothly.
You’ll spend time coaching patients and families using clear, supportive language, then pivot to coordinating next steps with the multidisciplinary team. When admissions come in, you’ll help keep the process moving—staying calm, accurate, and patient-centered. By end of shift, you’ll ensure documentation is complete and signed per protocol, hand off key information, and leave knowing you helped maintain a safe, well-run unit.
