Description
Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems Division (EESS) is currently seeking a Technical Proposal Team Leader. This role can be based in Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Arizona, Nevada or Colorado with up to 25% travel. This role will be hybrid 3 days in office, 2 days from hom.
The Technical Proposal Team Leader leads a team responsible for developing complex technical and commercial proposals for electrical power systems and engineering services opportunities across the Western Region. The team supports customers in markets including government, data center, industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities, providing solutions related to electrical distribution systems, maintenance services, modernization projects, field service programs, and power system reliability.
This role serves as a strategic advisor to customers, sales teams, and service operations by developing value-driven proposals, estimating labor and project costs, evaluating technical requirements, and communicating the benefits of Eaton's electrical services solutions. The position requires the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling customer-facing proposals and presentations that differentiate Eaton in competitive bid environments.
The role collaborates closely with cross‑functional stakeholders, including sales, engineering, services operations, and supply chain, to deliver differentiated, and value‑driven engineering service offerings. Expected results include profitable growth within assigned geographical accounts, improved proposal effectiveness and win rates, and the development of technical talent. Position includes travel up to 20%.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $129,000 - $190,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

## What you’ll do:
- Lead development of proposals for power distribution equipment maintenance, power system services, electrical infrastructure upgrades, and field service projects.
- Guide the team in evaluating electrical drawings, specifications, scopes of work, labor requirements, and project risk to develop accurate technical and commercial proposals.
- Support proposals for government and federal customers, including compliance with applicable contract and pricing requirements.
- Present technical and commercial solutions to customers, consultants, and contractors while clearly articulating the value of Eaton's Electrical Engineering Services offerings.
- Drive adoption of digital technologies, AI-enabled proposal tools, and best practices to improve proposal quality, consistency, and efficiency.
- Manage and develop a geographically dispersed team, driving performance, engagement, talent development, and succession planning.
## Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: application engineering, proposal development, engineering, technical sales, or field service operations.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position. To be considered, candidates must currently reside in one of the following states: Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Arizona, or Colorado. Active-duty military applicants are exempt from this requirement.
- This role is designated as a Regular Driver per Eaton’s Driver Safety Policy and requires a current, unrestricted driver’s license along with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record. Candidates will be subject to a motor vehicle record check upon hire.
- Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in electrical power systems, power distribution, electrical maintenance services, switchgear, circuit protection, field service operations, or related electrical infrastructure environments.
- Experience estimating labor, developing project costs, or supporting technical proposals for electrical service, construction, maintenance, commissioning, or power systems projects.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment and systems including medium-voltage and low-voltage power distribution equipment, circuit breakers, switchgear, protective devices, or related infrastructure.
- Experience supporting federal, military, DoD, NAVFAC, or other government contract opportunities preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to write, review, and present complex technical proposals to customers and stakeholders.
