McGill Hose & Coupling is a leading distributor of hydraulic and industrial hoses and a custom hose assembly shop. Family-owned since 1962, we have locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Our East Longmeadow facility is AS9100D certified. The VMI/Delivery Driver delivers orders to customers, builds positive, friendly relationships with them, and writes new orders on a scheduled basis. The goal is to give our customers a level of commitment, consistency and accuracy in service and support that stands out from the competition.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver orders to our top customers and restock designated areas such as cabinets and shelves.
- Help establish and maintain proper on-site inventory levels with the customer.
- Write stocking orders to replenish inventory using McGill part numbers.
- Keep areas around McGill-stocked product clean, organized and free of debris.
- Keep bins to a high standard, relabeling promptly when labels become damaged or unreadable.
- Communicate sales opportunities or issues to the sales team for prompt follow-up.
- Work with office staff to document and communicate orders, credits and RFQs.
- Report activities in the CRM system.
- Assist with or lead setups and reorganizations of customer inventory.
- Keep your assigned vehicle in safe running order on a set maintenance schedule.
- Follow our AS9100D Quality Management System and all safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy
- Able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Able to drive for extended periods and lift 50 lbs.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; able to pass a background check and/or drug screen
Education
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
