About the Opportunity
34 Park, one of Andover’s premier dining destinations, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our leadership team.
This is more than an opportunity to take a management position. It is an opportunity to learn, grow, and build a career in restaurant and hospitality leadership while working in a busy, polished, full-service restaurant environment.
We are looking for someone who genuinely loves hospitality—someone who enjoys food, restaurants, people, and the energy of a great service. The right person enjoys being on the floor, talking with guests, developing relationships, supporting employees, solving problems, and helping create the kind of experience that makes guests want to return.
Just as importantly, we are looking for someone with an open mind, initiative, curiosity, and a genuine desire to learn. You do not need to know everything on day one. We want someone who asks questions, takes feedback well, notices what needs to be done, and wants to understand not only how to run a great shift, but how a successful restaurant operates as a business.
For someone who is ready to take the next step in hospitality, this position offers significant hands-on experience and the opportunity to develop into a stronger restaurant leader with greater responsibilities over time.
The Role
The Assistant Restaurant Manager will work closely with the General Manager and restaurant leadership team to support the day-to-day operation of 34 Park, with a strong emphasis on front-of-house leadership, guest experience, team development, and execution of service.
This is a hands-on position. We are looking for a manager who wants to be present on the floor, engaged with the team, connected with our guests, and involved in the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager with daily front-of-house restaurant operations
- Help lead servers, bartenders, hosts, food runners, bussers, and other front-of-house team members
- Maintain an active and visible management presence throughout service
- Create a welcoming environment and build genuine relationships with guests
- Recognize regular guests while helping develop new relationships and guest loyalty
- Monitor reservations, seating, table turns, dining room flow, bar activity, and overall quality of service
- Work closely with the culinary team to ensure strong communication between the front and back of house
- Help conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities, menu information, events, and service expectations
- Coach and develop employees while reinforcing restaurant standards
- Assist with training and onboarding new team members
- Lead by example and step in wherever necessary during service
- Professionally handle guest concerns and service recovery
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization, presentation, and safety standards
- Learn and support scheduling, labor management, inventory, cost awareness, and other restaurant operational responsibilities
- Learn and utilize restaurant technology, including POS, reservations, scheduling, and operational systems
- Help maintain a positive workplace culture based on hospitality, teamwork, professionalism, communication, and accountability
- Take initiative in identifying opportunities to improve the guest experience and restaurant operation

Who We’re Looking For
We believe great restaurant managers are developed through experience, mentorship, curiosity, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Our ideal candidate is someone who:
- Loves hospitality and working with people
- Has a genuine interest in restaurants, food, beverages, and the dining experience
- Enjoys talking with guests and developing lasting relationships
- Is naturally warm, welcoming, and approachable
- Has an open mind and is eager to learn
- Demonstrates initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do
- Is curious about how and why a restaurant operates
- Accepts coaching and feedback positively
- Wants to develop leadership and management skills
- Communicates confidently and respectfully
- Enjoys developing and motivating a team
- Leads by example and is willing to work alongside employees
- Can remain organized and composed in a busy restaurant environment
- Is dependable, responsible, and accountable
- Notices details and takes pride in maintaining high standards
- Brings positive energy and a team-first attitude to work
Experience & Qualifications
Restaurant or hospitality experience is strongly preferred.
Previous management experience is valuable, but we are also interested in candidates who have demonstrated leadership potential and are ready to take the next step in their hospitality career.
An experienced server, bartender, shift leader, captain, supervisor, or hospitality professional with the right attitude, maturity, initiative, and desire to learn may be an excellent candidate for this opportunity.
Experience in a full-service restaurant environment is preferred.
Familiarity with restaurant POS, reservation, and scheduling systems is helpful, but training will be provided.
Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and available to work a flexible restaurant schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
