Description
The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority welcomes exceptional talent with a passion to realise the vision and mission of making the West Kowloon Cultural District a prime local and international destination for arts, culture and entertainment.
You will be responsible for:
- supporting the venue manager to ensure the performing arts venue is operated smoothly and up to service standards;
- acting as Duty Manager in charge of day-to-day operations, crowd management, facilities upkeep and emergency response;
- coordinating with internal departments for day-to-day venue operations, facilities maintenance, venue safety and security and show and event planning and execution;
- acting as person-in-charge (PIC) of performances and events organised by external hirers and internal teams;
- meeting with hirers and internal teams to provide sound operational recommendations that balance the benefits of the Authority and the requirements of the show and event production;
- supporting comprehensive show and event logistics planning and flawless on-site execution from load-in to load-out;
- managing relationships with venue hirers, event organizers and operation partners;
- leading the operational execution for high-profile gala events, opening ceremonies and VIP banquets hosted within the venue;
- directing dedicated event ushers and service hosts to manage VIP guest flow and red-carpet protocols;
- supervising food and beverage setups, licensing and hygiene compliance;
- coordinating on-site with external catering teams regarding setup timelines, service integration and back-of-house access points;
- overseeing table management and guest crowd flow to ensure a premium and hospitality-driven guest experience;
- overseeing the logistics, physical setup and inventory control of pop-up merchandise booths and commercial retail concessions during show runs;
- auditing sales revenue and stock reconciliation post-performance to guarantee financial accuracy and prevent discrepancies;
- monitoring the performance of frontline team members including permanent staff and casual labour;
- driving frontline workforce management from recruitment and training to daily operations; and
- performing any other duties from time to time as reasonably assigned by the Authority.
You should:
- possess a recognized university degree in performing arts, hospitality, tourism or equivalent;
- have 6 years of relevant experience in venue operations in performing arts venues, hospitality and/or tourism sectors, of which at least 3 years in a managerial position;
- have good knowledge of front-of-house and event operations;
- have experience in operation and development of performing arts venues;
- be service-oriented with professional customer service skills and positive service attitude;
- possess good analytical skills;
- be proficient in written and spoken Cantonese, Putonghua and English;
- be able to work in both outdoor and indoor environment; and
- be required to work on shift (5-day work week) according to the duty roster assigned including weekends and public holidays.
