Position: Faith Formation Coordinator
Status: Part-time
Reports to: Pastor
Position Summary
Coronation of Our Lady Catholic Church in Grandview, Missouri is seeking a Faith Formation Coordinator who will serve as a leader in the parish’s mission of evangelization and discipleship, helping people of all ages encounter Jesus Christ, grow in their Catholic faith, and live as missionary disciples.
This position goes beyond coordinating programs. The Faith Formation Coordinator builds relationships with children, youth, adults, families, volunteers, and the broader community and looks for opportunities to bring Christ to people where they are. The Coordinator works closely with the Pastor to create a parish culture where people are invited into relationship with Christ, formed in the Catholic faith, and equipped to share that faith with others.
Essential Duties
- Lead parish efforts in evangelization and discipleship, creating opportunities for people of all ages to encounter Jesus Christ, grow in faith, and become active participants in the life of the Church.
- Develop and coordinate faith formation opportunities for children, youth, adults, and families, including religious education, Bible studies, retreats, youth ministry, and other formation programs.
- Lead small groups of adults or teens in Bible studies to help bring them to a deeper faith and commitment to Christ and evangelization.
- Coordinate sacramental preparation for Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation, and other sacraments as assigned.
- Coordinate OCIA in collaboration with the Pastor and parish team, welcoming and accompanying those exploring or entering the Catholic faith.
- Seek creative ways to reach and welcome those who are disconnected from parish life, helping individuals and families take meaningful next steps toward Christ and the Church.
- Support and equip parents as the primary educators of their children in the faith, providing resources and opportunities for families to live and share their faith at home.
- Recruit, train, form, schedule, and encourage catechists and volunteers, helping them understand and embrace their role in evangelization and discipleship.
- Build strong relationships with families, parishioners, volunteers, and community members, listening to their needs and creating a welcoming and engaging parish environment.
- Collaborate with the Pastor and ministries to integrate evangelization, faith formation, worship, prayer, service, and community life.
- Coordinate and support parish-wide opportunities such as Vacation Bible School, Children’s Liturgy, youth activities, retreats, service projects, and family events that foster faith and community.
- Select, evaluate, and implement Catholic curricula, resources, and diocesan initiatives that support authentic faith formation and evangelization.
- Maintain accurate registrations, attendance, sacramental records, communications, calendars, and other ministry records, while protecting confidentiality.
- Manage ministry budgets, materials, facilities, and program logistics in collaboration with the Pastor.
- Ensure compliance with diocesan policies, Safe Environment requirements, and other applicable guidelines, serving as Safe Environment Coordinator when assigned.
- Communicate regularly with the Pastor regarding ministry progress, opportunities, needs, and concerns, and take initiative to identify new ways the parish can bring Christ to the broader community.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Bachelor's degree in theology, religious studies, religious education, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of Catholic teaching, Scripture, the sacraments, and principles of Catholic faith formation.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other common technology.
- Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as parish ministry requires.
