Engineering Manager; Warehouse Launch Manager

OVERVIEW:

responsible for leading the engineering and automation functions within the fulfillment center to ensure safe, reliable, 
and efficient operations. This role oversees automation systems, maintenance strategies, process improvements, 
capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives that support operational performance and business goals. 
The Engineering Manager partners closely with Operations, Safety, IT, Facilities, and Maintenance teams to 
maximize equipment uptime, improve productivity, and drive operational excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• Lead and manage engineering, automation, and technical support functions within the fulfillment center. 
• Oversee maintenance and reliability strategies for automated material handling equipment and facility 
systems. 
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on: 
o Throughput 
o Equipment uptime 
o Productivity 
o Safety 
o Cost reduction 
o Quality improvement 
• Manage automation systems including conveyors, sortation systems, robotics, scanners, and warehouse 
control systems. 
• Develop and monitor KPIs related to equipment reliability, downtime, preventive maintenance completion, 
and operational efficiency. 
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for major equipment failures and operational 
disruptions. 
• Partner with Operations leadership to support daily execution and peak planning activities. 
• Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs. 
• Manage engineering and capital improvement projects from planning through implementation. 
• Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and equipment manufacturers. 
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and engineering best practices. 
• Develop and maintain SOPs, engineering documentation, and maintenance procedures. 
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and expense management for engineering operations. 
• Recruit, develop, coach, and manage engineering and technical team members. 
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement. 

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, 
Automation Engineering, or related field. 
• 5+ years of engineering or maintenance leadership experience in fulfillment, distribution, manufacturing, or 
logistics environments. 
• Experience managing automation systems and material handling equipment. 
• Strong leadership and people management skills. 
• Knowledge of PLCs, controls systems, conveyors, robotics, and industrial automation. 
• Experience with reliability engineering and preventive maintenance programs. 
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project management skills. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. 
• Experience in e-commerce or high-volume fulfillment operations. 
• Lean Six Sigma certification preferred. 
• Experience with CMMS systems and warehouse management systems (WMS). 
• PMP certification preferred. 
• Knowledge of industrial networking and controls architecture. 
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods throughout the fulfillment center. 
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. 
• Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and noise levels. 
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access operational equipment areas as needed. 
• Fast-paced fulfillment center environment with high operational demands. 
• May require flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak season support. 
• Combination of office, project management, and warehouse floor responsibilities.
