Loader Operator / Yard Operative - Ballymena

Copart Ballymena is looking for a Loader Operator / Yard Operative to join our friendly and hardworking team.

Our Yard team plays a vital role in the day-to-day running of our operation. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions, has a passion for vehicles, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring vehicles are safely stored, handled, and maintained in line with customer and company standards, responding to customer requests and completing service orders within agreed deadlines. You’ll also use handheld devices to accurately record vehicle information and capture vehicle images.

The salary for this position is £30,976 per annum

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely moving and handling vehicles using a JCB 416 Articulated Loader, Tractor, and other basic equipment
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained, stored, and handled in line with company and customer standards
• Recording vehicle information accurately and capturing vehicle images using handheld devices
• Providing basic facility maintenance, including cleaning, minor repairs, and general yard upkeep
• Providing excellent customer service and responding to requests promptly
• Following all Health & Safety and company procedures
• Working effectively as part of a team while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Full driving licence
• Experience operating a loader
• Rough Terrain Forklift Truck Licence
• Mechanical or automotive experience
• Confident using handheld devices and basic IT applications
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Desirable:

• Experience operating a JCB 416 Articulated Loader
• Automotive or vehicle industry experience
• Front Shovel Loader Licence

Training will be provided where required to obtain the Front Shovel Loader Licence.
